Gender medicine has long answered the question of whether biological sex and gender play a role in health: the evidence is there. What remains is the harder task of translating that knowledge into clinical practice, research structures and health policy – the focus of the Swiss Gender Medicine Symposium. Now in its second edition, it brings together leading voices from clinical practice, research and health policy, from Switzerland and abroad. The programme is aimed at professionals in medicine, research, public health, industry and politics, and covers clinical guidelines, global health, men’s health, medical education, and AI and bias in big data. The symposium builds on a national initiative uniting Switzerland’s five medical faculties in gender medicine, alongside the Swiss National Research Programme on gender medicine and health.
