Accompanying NCD patients through the start of medication treatment: The myCare Start project

Held as part of Patient Safety Switzerland’s digital theme series for the 2026 Patient Safety Action Week, this webinar addresses a critical moment in patient care: the start of a new medication regimen. Many patients struggle to understand a new treatment, prepare for it individually and integrate it into daily life, which can undermine adherence and, in turn, safety. The session presents myCare Start-I, an evidence-based, interprofessional care model developed for the Swiss context to support patients with chronic conditions through structured consultations at the outset of treatment. Sarah Rondeaux, PhD, a pharmacist and postdoctoral researcher at the Institut des Sciences Pharmaceutiques de Suisse Occidentale (ISPSO), presents the project alongside insights from practice.
