Communication Challenges in Healthcare: What Helps in Conversation?

This webinar is part of the Aktionswoche Patient:innensicherheit 2026, a national digital series on patient safety organised by Stiftung Patientensicherheit Schweiz and funded by the Federal Quality Commission (EQK). It explores what makes communication in healthcare work – how to navigate differing expectations, emotions and difficult conversations, and how patients, relatives and healthcare professionals can shape decisions together. The session is aimed at healthcare professionals working directly with patients and families, and is led by Prof. Dr. med. Sabina Hunziker, Chair of Medical Communication at the University of Basel, whose research focuses on communication during ward rounds, decision-making and critical situations.
